Ode to the Pencil in the Sky

Ode to the Pencil in the Sky, pastel on paper, 42" x 54"
The title is taken from his description of writing Mr. Mudd and Mr. Gold. He says, "That song came to me in a flash all at once. It wasn't me that was writing it. It was a giant pencil from the sky."
